In and around the Spartanburg area, you will find an abundance of well-maintained, safe trails suitable for all levels of expertise. From nature walks abundant in plants and wildlife, scenic walks along local waterways, or a gentle stroll through the park, Spartanburg has a walk for everyone.

Keowee-Toxaway State Park
Approx. 1.5 hours away from USC-Upstate
Time: Meet at the Keowee-Toxaway State Park Visitor’s Center parking area at 10 am, back to USC-Upstate by 4pm.
We will hike the moderate to strenuous 4.4 miles of Raven Rock Trail and if time permits the moderate to strenuous Natural Bridge Nature Trail (1.3 mi).
Fees: $7.00 per person
Directions: From I-85: Take exit 40 onto Hwy 153 toward Easley. Go N on Hwy 153 for 5 mi. Merge onto Calhoun Memorial Hwy/Hwy 123 and drive for 2.5 mi. Hwy 123 becomes Hwy 93/Main St. continue to drive 3 mi. Go onto Hwy 8 and continue for 6 mi. Turn left onto Hwy 183 and then turn right onto Hwy 178 and drive 8.5 mi. Turn left onto Hwy 11 and drive 8.5 mi. Look for park signs.
