Spartanburg’s most visible public park is located in the historic center of Spartanburg, adjacent to the Northside Redevelopment project. Used for community meetings, special events, and weddings, the picturesque lakeside park also provides a welcome respite from the hustle and bustle of everyday life with walking trails, lakeside swings, benches, and picnic pavilions. A new, fully accessible playground—the largest playground in Spartanburg County—constructed by community volunteers was recently opened in the park.

Offering meeting and banquet facilities

The Cleveland Park Event Center offers the finest in meeting and banquet facilities. The Upper Level hall is available to rent on an hourly or daily (10-hour) basis.

Upper Level

There is a 4-hour minimum rental requirement for the Upper Level. All Saturdays require a minimum rental time of 6 hours. Security officers are required for events serving alcohol or if more than 250 guests are expected. The charge for security officers is $30.00 per hour for a 3-hour minimum.

Includes the following amenities:

  • 3,432-square-foot open hall (52′ x 66′)
  • 12′-wide wrap-around porch
  • Large fireplaces
  • View of lake and park
  • Use of public address system
  • Use of catering kitchen
  • Use of tables and chairs

Lower Level

There is a 2-hour minimum rental requirement for the Lower Level. Security officers are required for events serving alcohol or if more than 250 guests are expected. The charge for security officers is $30.00 per hour for a 3-hour minimum. Friday-Sunday late afternoon/evening rentals (not in combination with the Upper Level) are not guaranteed. Upper Level functions will receive priority on reservations.

Deposits and fees: The required 50% deposit must be paid at the time the rental contract is signed. The balance of fees must be paid no later than 30 days prior to the event.

Cancellation: Event Center cancellations between 60-90 days of event will result in loss of security deposit. Cancellations less than 60 days will result in loss of 50% of the total amount listed on the itemized fee report. Rescheduling an event will be treated the same as a cancellation.

***Please note: We are unable to rent both the upper level and the lower level on the same day during the same time block. The only way an event could be booked in both the upper and lower level is if a single customer has rented both levels on the same day for their allotted time block.

Gazebo and Amphitheater

The Cleveland Park Island Gazebo and Lakeside Amphitheater provide the perfect setting for an outdoor wedding ceremony and are available for rent on an hourly basis. The Island Gazebo can hold up to 100 guests, while the Lakeside Amphitheater can accommodate more than 200 guests. Cleveland Park also offers wedding chair rental for your special occasion.

Fees
Monday-Sunday: $200 for a two-hour time block
Wedding chairs: $2/chair; only have 100  white chairs available for rental

Each of these newly renovated shelters offer a great space to host your child’s birthday party.

Located directly inside the playground area, we offer two different size shelters to meet your party needs.  The availability of each shelter can be found online or by calling the park office at 864-562-4150.

Birthday Pavilion

For birthday parties, church functions, and company picnics

The Milliken Place and Waste Management Picnic Shelters are available for rent in four-hour time blocks. These covered shelters can accommodate up to 100 guests each and are great for family events, company picnics, birthday parties, and church functions. Each shelter is handicap accessible and includes two charcoal grills, 10 picnic tables, trash receptacles, lights, and power outlets.
